Looking for St. Patrick’s Day fun in Austin? Here’s a round up of events from kid-friendly, to the decidedly adult fare:

  • St. Patrick’s Day Austin at Jordan Bachman Pioneer Farm is held annually, and features live music, food & drink, Irish language lessons by the Gaelic League of Austin, clogging, dancing, and more. “No green beer, it’ll be the color God and Arthur Guinness intended.” Entry for adults is $15; $6 for children under 13 years old.
  • Fado’s St. Patrick’s Day Be The Legend Block Party kicks off bright and early at 7am for early birds, with no entrance fee.  Entry from 9am – 2pm is $10, and after 2pm it jumps up to $20 per person. Fado’s is closing its location after 20 years on 4th Street, so this party promises to be one for the memory books! Children are allowed in during the morning and early afternoon, but it’s adults-only starting at 4pm. Bands begin on the patio at 10am, and on the street at noon. Go, drink, eat plenty of fish & chips!  Be responsible, and use a designated driver or the promo code Lyft has assigned to the event: FADO18!.
  • Little Woodrow’s features green beer and Twisted Irish Tea on Saturday, with “more arse kickin’ specials” at each location.
  • Jack & Ginger’s St. Patrick’s Day Street Festival at The Domain will have music, music, music, including bagpipes and Austin party band favorite More Cowbell. Adults only for this all day affair (8am – midnight). Tickets at the door are $10 until noon, when they go up to $20.
  • Pups on the St. Patty-o at Cane Rosso, benefitting the Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. As much as it pains me when people mistakenly use the female nickname of “Patty” instead of the male nickname “Paddy,” I could not omit this event from my list. Dog (and kid) friendly, your $10 donation gets you a glass of wine or beer, and discounts on special menu items. Cane Rosso will match the amount of ticket sales for this fundraiser so the more, the merrier! Dress your pup in their festive best, and go enjoy great food on what will be a beautiful Spring day.
  • Strangeland Brewery takes St. Patrick’s Day seriously. How seriously? We’re talking The Last Dubliner, limited release barrel-aged Jameson Irish Whiskey Stout seriously. Get it while you can! Their celebration starts at 5pm with “Irish Music, Irish Beer, Irish Attitude.” It’s also the last night of the season for “beer poking,” in which a fiery hot poker is submerged into your beer, imparting magical roasty-toasty flavor.
  • B.D. Riley’s downtown spot has Irish music from 12-4pm, while the Mueller location opens early at 9am and features Liverpool v. Waterford, plus Irish breakfast until 5pm.
  • The Yellow Rose has its Lucky AF celebration with $3 green beer and free entry for patrons wearing green. Do I even need to say this party is adults only?
